The initiative has resulted in the agreement on an architecture for data handling unit based on standard module functions. A standard module procurement flow has been defined, as well as a standardized backplane connector and electrical interfaces. This allows independent development of interoperable modules that can be connected together in ADHA units. More advanced security functions are expected to be required in future ESA missions. The modular format of the proposed solution will enable faster adoption, and verification of new security technologies, in different unit configurations. This activity aims to perform analysis work to derive a standardization of the security function within an ADHA module form-factor, to allow the development of ADHA-compliant security products, which can be utilized together with other existing ADHA products, such as ADHA OBC. When implemented in the ADHA 3U form factor, such units are of particular interest for use in mid-size satellite platforms as well (less than 500kg mass). For prototyping purposes, the target of this activity is an elegant breadboard (EBB) of the ADHA security module in 6U format, based on the security function requirements defined in this activity. The extended format will provide the required design margins for the prototyping and demonstration phase. The long-term goal, this technology development, is the adaptation of this security module to an ADHA 3U module form factor. This activity encompasses thefollowing tasks: - Analyse the use-cases for dedicated security modules in data handling systems, both for platform and payload - Derive the detailed generic requirements for ADHA Security Modules, including functions, performances, electrical and software interfaces, etc. and present the specifications for review of the ADHA consortia and industrial working group - Derive the architectural design of a prototype ADHA Security Module - Derive a prototype electrical and software design of an ADHA Security Module, as an EBB in ADHA 6U format. - Perform functional validation of the prototype and demonstrate a representative use-case for the ADHA Security Module - Derive a roadmap for bringing the derived design to an ADHA 3U security module EM/EQM/FM.","ecosrequired":true,"establishment":"ESTEC","firstPublicationDate":"2026-07-10T08:44:21","id":191329,"idEra":25414,"initiatingService":"TEC-SES","ipmeasure":"N/A","isArchived":false,"isCancelled":false,"isReissued":false,"isToBeReissued":false,"issueQuarter":"262","lastUpdateTime":"2026-10-16T16:40:36","lastUpdateUser":"rhamill","openDate":"2026-10-16T16:40:33","priceRange":"> 500 KEURO","programmeReference":"Technology Developme","tanumber":"1-13628","title":"ADHA SECURITY MODULE - EXPRO+","directorate":null,"countries":[{"id":1},{"id":168},{"id":67},{"id":27},{"id":26},{"id":25},{"id":24},{"id":23},{"id":22},{"id":19},{"id":17},{"id":16},{"id":13},{"id":12},{"id":11},{"id":10},{"id":9},{"id":8},{"id":7},{"id":6},{"id":5},{"id":2},{"id":15}],"products":[{"id":280}],"technologies":[{"id":133}],"status":{"id":2},"tenderType":{"id":5},"isFavourite":false,"eraVersion":1,"stageNumber":null,"isNew":false,"isUpdated":false,"declarationOfCompliances":["All the required declarations of compliance have been addressed and included in our proposal's Cover Letter"],"keyAcceptanceFactors":["The Tenderer confirms, on its behalf and on behalf of its Subcontractor(s), to satisfy the “Eligibility Requirements” (see section 1.1 of the EXPRO/TC);","The Tenderer confirms, on its behalf and on behalf of its Subcontractor(s), to fulfil the requirements concerning “Free Competition” (see paragraph 10 of the Cover Letter of the Proposal Template);","The Tenderer confirms, on its behalf and on behalf of its Subcontractor(s), to accept the conditions established for “Non commitment by the Agency in competitive procurements” (see section 1.7 of the EXPRO/TC);","The Tenderer confirms, on its behalf and on behalf of its Subcontractor(s), to be compliant with the “Non Benefits Requirements” (see section 1.8 of the EXPRO/TC);","The Tenderer confirms that the tender Cover Letter and the Detailed Proposal contain a binding price;","The Tenderer confirms that the tender Cover Letter and the Detailed Proposal contain a price type compliant with the one requested in the ITT;","The Tenderer confirms that the tender is compliant with the budgetary limit applicable to the ITT;"],"evaluationCriterias":[{"criterion":"Background and experience (related to the particular field concerned) of the company(ies) and staff, including adequacy of the proposed facilities.","weightingFactor":"30%"},{"criterion":"Understanding of the objectives of the activity and discussion of the problem areas, and adequacy of the programme of work","weightingFactor":"50%"},{"criterion":"Adequacy of the time dedication and costing, compliance with administrative tender conditions and acceptance of the contract conditions","weightingFactor":"20%"}],"entities":[],"procurementProposal":null,"responsible":"Kieran Killard","updateReason":"Tender Action Issued"}],"totalNew":0,"totalUpdated":0}
