The goal of this activity is to investigatemulti-asset, distributed simulations capabilities for full end-to-end mission simulations of futureexploration missions spanning lander, orbiters, relays and surface assets in different locations.This activity investigates the various scenarios (i.e. current ExoMars simulation architectures, futureneeds of the Sample Fetch Rover (SFR) and European Large Logistic Lander (EL3) missions) andhow, within their respective mission scenarios, simulation systems can be distributed, synchronizedand orchestrated either in local (i.e. data center) environments, or across different agencies orindustrial partners.The challenge to beaddressed is to achieve the capability to execute full mission segments (suchas full egress campaigns) with all distributed teams and experts - usually distributed over differentagencies and industrial partners in a as realistic as possible set-up, meaning interactions,coordination and real-time data during the simulation shall be available to all actors within thesimulation. Various technological frameworks exist to interconnect simulators on the technical level.However, this activity shall specifically focus on thecoordination aspects, synchronousmanagement or orchestration that is required and suitable above the pure interfaces level to realizesuch distributed simulations. To validate defined architectures, using agile developmentmethodologies this activity aims at developing a proof of concept to demonstrate keyrecommendations of this activity.
