This will enable real-time optimisation of the link based onthe elevation angle and the turbulence conditions. Eventually, integrating the beacon capabilities with the communications beam.Description: Alignment of the optical system at an optical ground station is usually needed before a link session, especially if the optical configuration (beam divergence)has changed. Links to Low-Earth Orbit are highly dynamic, ranging for very small elevation angles up to zenith, and atmospheric turbulence conditionsevolving during a link session. It is essential that for links targeting optical feeder applications the ground-space connectivity must be maintained.Furthermore, ground-to-space links usually make use of a beacon during the acquisition phase. For these reasons, developing a mechanism that allowsfor real-time beam-divergence adjustment without the need to re-align the optical components is considered very useful.Some of the off-the-shelf components used in optical ground stations are limited in accuracy and optical power, and therefore not suitable for an on-skyreal-time adjustment of the beam divergence. This activity shall evaluate the state-of-the-art of mechanisms, with their limitations on accuracy, precisionand maximum supported power. The design and development of an engineering model shall demonstrate the capabilities of the mechanism. This goalcan be achieved either in the laboratory with realistic interfaces or at an optical ground station.","ecosrequired":true,"establishment":"ESTEC","firstPublicationDate":"2026-04-23T08:57:19","id":185954,"idEra":24999,"initiatingService":"RNC-FQ","ipmeasure":"N/A","isArchived":false,"isCancelled":false,"isReissued":false,"isToBeReissued":false,"issueQuarter":"000","lastUpdateTime":"2026-10-30T09:37:19","lastUpdateUser":"system","openDate":"2026-10-20T17:10:31","priceRange":"> 500 KEURO","programmeReference":"OP - Advanced Techno","tanumber":"1-13465","title":"HIGH-PRECISION MECHANISM FOR ON-SKY OPTICAL BEAM DIVERGENCE ADJUSTMENT (ARTES 4.0 SL SPL 6C.080) - EXPRO+ (ON REQUEST)","directorate":null,"countries":[{"id":1},{"id":67},{"id":62},{"id":26},{"id":24},{"id":23},{"id":22},{"id":19},{"id":18},{"id":17},{"id":16},{"id":13},{"id":12},{"id":11},{"id":10},{"id":9},{"id":8},{"id":6},{"id":5},{"id":2},{"id":15},{"id":25},{"id":7},{"id":4}],"products":[{"id":24}],"technologies":[{"id":240}],"status":{"id":2},"tenderType":{"id":5},"isFavourite":false,"eraVersion":1,"stageNumber":null,"isNew":false,"isUpdated":false,"declarationOfCompliances":["All the required declarations of compliance have been addressed and included in our proposal's Cover Letter."],"keyAcceptanceFactors":["The Tenderer confirms, on its behalf and on behalf of its Subcontractor(s), to satisfy the “Eligibility Requirements” (see section 1.1 of the EXPRO/TC);","The Tenderer confirms, on its behalf and on behalf of its Subcontractor(s), to fulfil the requirements concerning “Free Competition” (see paragraph 11 of the Cover Letter of the Proposal Template);","The Tenderer confirms, on its behalf and on behalf of its Subcontractor(s), to accept the conditions established for “Non commitment by the Agency in competitive procurements” (see section 1.7 of the EXPRO/TC);","The Tenderer confirms, on its behalf and on behalf of its Subcontractor(s), to be compliant with the “Non Benefits Requirements” (see section 1.8 of the EXPRO/TC);","The Tenderer confirms that the tender Cover Letter and the Detailed Proposal contain a binding price;","The Tenderer confirms that the tender Cover Letter and the Detailed Proposal contain a price type compliant with the one requested in the ITT;","The Tenderer confirms that the tender is compliant with the budgetary limit applicable to the ITT;","The Tenderer confirms that:\nSupporting evidence of the authorisation of funding from the relevant Participating State(s) is provided as part of the Tender cover letter and in accordance with the requirements of section 4 of the Cover letter to the present ITT."],"evaluationCriterias":[{"criterion":"Background and experience (related to the particular field concerned) of the company(ies) and staff, including adequacy of proposed facilities.","weightingFactor":"30%"},{"criterion":"Understanding of the objectives of the activity and discussion of problem areas, and adequacy of the programme of work.","weightingFactor":"50%"},{"criterion":"Adequacy of the time dedication and costing, compliance with administrative tender conditions and acceptance of the contract conditions","weightingFactor":"20%"}],"entities":[],"procurementProposal":null,"responsible":"Florence Glandieres","updateReason":"Tender Action Issued"}],"totalNew":0,"totalUpdated":0}
